Our client is an outstanding not-for-profit organisation seeking an Internal Communications Officer to join their team for an initial three month temporary contract. This will be a full time position working from home, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of a contract extension. A laptop will of course be provided and sent to you for ease with full online onboarding to support your training.
The role will involve the following key responsibilities:
- Manage multiple communications projects within agreed timescales to achieve identified business objectives.
- Serve as a source of advice to colleagues on best practice in internal communications and the client's brands.
- Provide design expertise through Adobe Creative Cloud applications to design a range of online and printed materials as required.
- Research, write, edit and publish news items and longer features for internal communications channels.
- Provide support for new and interactive internal communications channels.
- Deputise for the Internal Communications Manager as required and represent the Internal Communications team in various project groups.
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of our internal communications channel and serve as an advisor on analytics and data measurement.
- Work with the Marketing team to manage our photo library.
- Develop and provide expertise on the production of resources for colleagues in accessible formats in accordance with the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy.
Successful candidates will have the following qualities and experience:
- Have worked in an internal communications role or in another similar field
- Have designed a range of printed and digital materials to a good standard and in accordance with brand guidelines
- Have written persuasive copy for a variety of audiences and in different styles
- Have managed communications projects from planning to implementation and review stage
- Have worked within a large, complex and multi-site organisation
- Personable and able to build constructive working relationships at all levels of the organisation, including with senior leaders and the people the client supports
- Creative, good at problem solving and calm under pressure
- Outstanding written communication skills, including a sound grasp of grammar and the ability to write persuasive copy in different styles
- Computer literate, having an excellent grasp of the Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, and the ability to learn how to use new applications
- A good grasp of Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop
- A good grasp of other Adobe applications, such as Illustrator and Acrobat Professional
- Able to work flexibly and to respond effectively to changes in workload
