Description

We are working with well-established global business based in Swindon designing and manufacturing highly efficient AC and EC Motors and we are looking for a Junior Buyer - Administrator to join the forever growing team.

Reporting to the Senior Buyer, your primary responsibilities will be to support the Supply Chain Team on purchasing administration including Support of order placement and PO management, placing expense orders, order acknowledgements and some query resolution.

Your Goal

Assist the Supply Chain Team to organize buying of purchased components and subcontract supplier services. You will be responsible for supplier order book management and professional supplier relationship management. General administration and filing must be kept up to date. Supporting Documentation processes will also be helpful in areas of Cost controls (MPV) and Import documentation and Freight cost management.

Your Objectives

  • Provide professional administration and purchasing practice to the Department.
  • Place Purchase orders in a timely manner and expediting these to ensure delivery on time.
  • Order acknowledgements to be vetted in line with the MRP screens to ensure the delivery date is correct and on time. Also check price acknowledged is the agreed price on the purchase order.
  • To aid and expediting as required and when appropriate to the Department.
  • Book in parts delivered to off-site supplier locations per delivery note confirmations (sub-contract manufacturer-suppliers).
  • Management.
  • Administrate all the above to fulfill your primary role.
  • Filing and archiving or purchase orders and correspondence.
  • Update prices (pops) and cost sets as required.
  • Ensure you are available for Stocktake on an annual basis.
  • Administer Special Freight Log + Price premium logs as necessary.


Your Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent administration and organization skills.
  • A good understanding and awareness of Supplier documentation and delivery processes preferably including international import and export and subcontract processes.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing environment. Preferably metal work and electronics.
